Assign content and playback times in your dashboard. The player downloads them to the device and plays from local storage. It regularly contacts the server to receive updates and report its status.

Four ways to connect

Install the player on a compatible TV or a separate device. Your choice depends on your equipment and the number of screens you need.

InternetCable connection
01The simplest setup for one screen

TV with Android TV

Install Vionsy Player directly on a compatible Android TV. No additional computer, TV box or video cable is needed.

02A budget external player

Android Smart TV Box

Install the player on a compatible Android TV box and connect it to a TV by cable. This lets you use standard TVs — one or more, if the hardware supports that setup.

03A compact solution

Linux mini computer

A Raspberry Pi or a similar industrial mini computer with a compatible Linux configuration can act as an external player. It sends a video signal by cable to one or more screens.

04Use equipment you already have

Windows computer

Install Vionsy Player on a compatible Windows PC or laptop and connect screens by cable. An older laptop may work too, provided its specifications are sufficient for your videos.

When synchronised playback matters

One player. The same picture on every screen.

For a video menu in a café or restaurant, several TVs can receive a shared video signal from one external device. With a suitable connection setup, this enables synchronised playback.

A separate player on each Android TV

Each TV plays content independently. Playback timing may differ slightly — exact synchronisation is not guaranteed.

Several screens from one device

Every screen receives one shared video signal. This setup is suitable for synchronised playback of identical content; the configuration depends on the equipment.

Internet for updates. Video from local storage.

  1. Download

Internet is needed to download content and schedules and stay in contact with the server.

  2. Local playback

If the internet connection is temporarily lost, the player continues using the previously downloaded schedule.

  3. Update

Once the connection is restored, the player can receive new content and schedule changes.

Offline operation is limited by the downloaded content and available schedule. The device and screens still need power for playback.

Start again when power returns

With suitably configured Windows or Linux equipment, the device can turn on automatically when power is restored and launch Vionsy Player. This depends on the device’s capabilities and settings.

Automatic launch after switching on an Android TV is not currently stated as a guaranteed feature.

Install Vionsy Player

Download the application from the Vionsy website directly to a compatible device. Choose the version for your operating system and check hardware compatibility before starting.
